Hoje é impossível imaginar um mundo sem os blogs, neles nos informamos, trocamos ideias, estabelecemos redes, discutimos e descobrimos novos trabalhos.
No Brasil, esse fenômeno já é importantíssimo, temos uma blogosfera fotográfica extremamente atuante. Mas e fora daqui? Onde podemos nos informar sobre o que está acontecendo? Que blogs podemos ler?
Resolvemos perguntar ao professor e fotógrafo Armando Prado – sempre muito bem informado e com um conhecimento espantoso sobre fotografia – que blogs internacionais de fotografia ele costuma ler. Ele respondeu com o que chama carinhosamente de “10 blogs para ler antes de morrer”. Segue a lista sugerida por ele:
1 – O blog “Politics Theory and Photography”, criado em 2005, por Jim Johnson, cientista político, investiga o uso cultural, social e político das imagens. Jim não é fotógrafo e nem pretende ser tornar um.
2 – O blog “Conscientious”, criado em 2005, por Jorg M. Colberg é dedicado a Fotografia contemporânea. Jorg apresenta portfólios, faz entrevistas, reviews de livros e exposições. O blog tem um subdivisão, o Conscientious Extended em que o autor faz analises mais profundas sem a necessidade de atualização diária.
3 – O “The Photo Book” criado em 2008, por Douglas Stockdale dispensa apresentação, o nome já diz tudo. Douglas faz belas análises de livros de fotografia. Para quem ama, coleciona ou pretende um dia fazer um, o blog é leitura indispensável.
4 – O blog “lenscratch”, criado em 2007, pela fotógrafa Aline Smithson apresenta belos trabalhos.
5 – O “5b4”, criado em 2007, por Jeffrey Ladd é mais uma inesgotável fonte de alegria para os amantes do fotolivro. Jeffrey é um colecionador e seu blog apresenta não só os clássicos e as raridades, mas bons lançamentos. Cuidado você pode ir parar na “Amazon”!
6 – Marc Feustel escreve desde 2009 o “EYEcurious” inicialmente dedicado a Fotografia Japonesa, hoje o blog viaja o mundo. Marc apresenta fotógrafos, faz entrevistas e segundo ele apresenta “pensamentos aleatórios e experimentações”. Marc Feustel foi o responsável pelas entrevistas realizadas na última edição da revista holandesa FOAM.
7 – O Verve Photo de Geoffrey Hiller apresenta, desde 2008, o que o autor chama de “a nova geração de fotógrafos documentaristas”.
8 – Desde 2006, Hester Keijser & Norman Beierle se dedicam ao “Mrs. Deane – nothing is too amazing to be true”. O blog apresenta fotografia contemporânea, imagens históricas, apropriação de acervos e belos livros de autor, tudo isso sempre com um senso de humor requintado.
9 – Escrito, desde 2007, por Andrew Hetherington, fotógrafo editorial e de publicidade Irlandês, o blog“whatsthejacknory” quebra as barreiras do universo fotográfico se aventurando na música, literatura e design. Fiquem tranqüilos a fotografia está sempre por perto.
10 - No “Exposure Compensation” Miguel Garcia Guzman apresenta, desde 2006, textos sobre “Fotografia e fotógrafos”.

In Brazil, this phenomenon is important since we have a very active photographic blogosphere. But out here? Where can inform us about what's going on? What we read blogs?
We decided to ask the teacher and photographer Armando Prado - always well informed and with an amazing knowledge about photography - international photography blogs that you read it. He responded with what he calls affectionately "10 blogs to read before you die." Following is a list suggested by him:
1 - The blog "Theory and Politics Photography", created in 2005 by Jim Johnson, a political scientist, investigates the use of cultural, social and political images. Jim is not a photographer and not intended as a make.
2 - The blog "Conscientious," created in 2005 by Jorg M. Colberg is dedicated to contemporary photography. Jorg presents portfolios, does interviews, reviews of books and exhibitions. The blog has a subdivision, the Conscientious Extended in which the author makes deeper analysis without the need to update daily.
3 - "The Photo Book" created in 2008 by Douglas Stockdale no introduction, the name says it all. Douglas makes beautiful photography book reviews. For those who love, collect or intend to do a one day, the blog is essential reading.
4 - The blog "lenscratch," created in 2007 by photographer Aline Smithson presents beautiful works.
5 - The "5b4", created in 2007 by Jeffrey Ladd is more an inexhaustible source of joy for lovers of the Photobook. Jeffrey is a collector and your blog has not only the classics and rarities, but a good release. Beware you may get the "Amazon"!
6 - Marc Feustel writes since 2009 the "EYEcurious" initially dedicated to Japanese Photography, the blog now travels the world. Marc presents photographers, do interviews and he said shows "random thoughts and experiments." Marc Feustel was responsible for interviews in the latest edition of the Dutch magazine FOAM.
7 - The Verve Photo by Geoffrey Hiller has, since 2008, what the author calls "the new generation of documentary photographers."
8 - Since 2006, Hester Keijser & Norman Beierle dedicated to "Mrs. Deane - nothing is too amazing to Be True ". The blog presents contemporary photography, historical images, the appropriation of collections and beautiful books of the author, all always with a refined sense of humor.
9 - Written since 2007 by Andrew Hetherington, editorial and advertising photographer Irish blog "whatsthejacknory" break the barriers of the photographic universe is venturing into music, literature and design. Be still photography is always around.
10 - "Exposure Compensation" Miguel Garcia Guzman has, since 2006, articles on "Photography and photographers."
